Eric Schrader
Mr. Eric B. Schrader received a bachelor of science from Duquesne University and a Masters of Music from Youngstown State University. He currently teaches instrumental music grades 7-12. Mr. Schrader is responsible for the marching band, senior high percussion ensemble, junior and senior high concert bands, high school jazz band, and 4 steel drum bands. His bands have performed in Pennsylvania, Florida (Disney World), Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio. They consistently receive "excellent" and "superior" ratings at adjudication and assessment festivals.
His steel drum bands have performed as featured soloists with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra on two occasions and at the prestigious Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association Conference in Valley Forge in 2006. The steel drum has also been honored with a performance at the MENC All-Eastern Festival in Providence, Rhode Island in March, 2009. Most recently, the Steel Drum Band has been selected to perform at the PMEA Conference in in April, 2010 in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Schrader has performed on French horn with the Carl Marks Band, Youngstown Fine Arts Quintet, Shenango Valley Chorale, Mercer Community Band, and Greenville Symphony Orchestra and on steel pans with Steel Impressions, Play Mas Steel Drum Band, and State Street Jazz.
Mr. Schrader is a member of Phi Beta Mu, PSEA, PMEA, MENC, and the Mercer County Band Director's Association. He has been nominated for Who's Who Among America's Teachers 7 times, Marquis Who's Who 3 times, and Who's Who in America. He has also been honored with the "Golden Apple" award at Commodore Perry School District where he taught previously.
He is the proud parent of daughter Alexis Schrader.
